Baseball is set to become the NCAA regional host from this year onwards.The announcement of hosting a regional signals the 55th time the Texas Longhorns will play in any variation of the NCAA Division I baseball tournament, the most among any Division I school.

This marks the 25th time UFCU Disch-Falk Field will host an NCAA Regional. The Longhorns also served as host in 2007, but the games were played at The Dell Diamond in nearby Round Rock. Texas has served as sole host of an NCAA regional on 36 occasions prior to this season.

Other regional hosts include Atlanta (Georgia Tech); Chapel Hill, N.C. (North Carolina); Charlottesville, Va. (Virginia); Clemson, S.C. (Clemson); College Station, Texas (Texas A&M); Columbia, S.C. (South Carolina); Corvallis, Ore. (Oregon State); Fort Worth, Texas (TCU); Fullerton, Calif. (Cal State Fullerton); Gainesville, Fla. (Florida); Houston (Rice); Los Angeles (UCLA); Nashville, Tenn. (Vanderbilt); Tallahassee, Fla. (Florida State); Tempe, Ariz. (Arizona State).
